■ commutators and sliprings
■ design
Orders are dealt with speedily and efficiently following a customer's enquiry on one of the multi-language data forms.
An advanced computer-aided design system uses in-house created software to meet the full requirements of commutator design and manufacture. The system calculates and displays dynamic stresses and is able to determine theoretical overspeed characteristics and create production drawings.
■ manufacture
The Group's ability to produce all the components for commutators and sliprings ensures total quality control throughout the manufacturing process. Any size of commutator, from 20cm to 5m, with flexible or solid risers, of moulded or built-up constructions, can be produced to meet the exact requirements of the customer. The same applies to slip rings in phosphor bronze, brass, copper & steel or any appropriate metal.
■ testing
In addition to the simulated testing through the CAD system, all commutators and slip-rings undergo thorough mechanical and electrical testing at all stages of manufacture.
■ seasoning
Every commutator undergoes static seasoning and, when necessary or requested, full rotary seasoning. Hard copies of the profile readings can be supplied.
■ quality
The quality management system complies with the requirements of AS/NZS ISO 9002 1994 and is an assurance to customers of the very high quality standards that are worked to.
