Sulzer Dowding & Mills, together with its subsidiary Bootham Engineers, operates its "Round the clock" service at each branch and its extensive geographical coverage enables it to meet customer needs whenever and wherever required. It is supported by a highly skilled and experienced workforce with well-equipped workshops which have adopted stringent quality management standards. Sulzer Dowding & Mills' own transport fleet will also collect and deliver anywhere in the country.

The customers for Mechanical Services range from small businesses to large international companies, covering al industries which use machinery. These include shipping, the major utilities of power generation, mining, quarrying, water and sewage, and the manufacturing industries, such as steel, paper, chemicals, food and automotive.
The needs of each customer are varied but usually range from the repair or re-manufacture of a worn or damaged component, to the overhaul and rebuild of a complete machine. The Company can, if necessary, manufacture entirely new components where repair is not possible.
